I took a class last weekend using Stampbord and I'm loving it! We were given a plain wood box and this is what I came up with. I inked the box, making sure to keep the center light and darker around the edges. I then overstamped this with the Hero Arts Manuscript stamp. The center medallion is an old stamp from Stamp It! that I borrowed. I wished I owned this stamp! ;-) I then got to scratching the image back. So fun! Added the Tim Holtz decorative feet and I was done.
Lined the box with some decorative patterned paper.
Here's a close-up of the scratched detail.
My girlfriend Michelle Ward is having a challenge on her blog
herewhich asks to challenge yourself with size. I choose to change my medium. I usually work with cards but I'm branching out ;-)
Here I thought I would show the small magnet I also made from a test piece. Nothing goes to waste. Hope you've enjoyed this post and TFL!
This project is BEAUTIFUL! I just love the green!

ReplyDeleteYour box turned out really nice, Lisa! Perfect for little treasures - love those feet!
ReplyDeleteThis is reall7 an amazing project! How did you do the scratching that you talked about? My sister is really into Celtic things and this would make a perfect gift for her so I would love to lift this idea. I see boxes all the time at Michaels for so cheap. Email me at shemainesmith@yahoo.com if you don't mind or if you know a link to a video on how to that would be just fab.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will submit this to Sommerset or Scrapbook Trends Handmade

Oh, that's gorgeous! I'm working on one of these at the moment and just love those feet for making the box really special. I LOVE your colour scheme and I have a very similar stamp from Magenta - don't know if they still do it or not.

ReplyDeleteHello Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI don't understand completely how you did the scratching ( did you scratch paint away), but it looks great.
Colorcombination is really nice and from what I see you are a person that likes to work perfect in the details ! Even the inside of the box looks perfect.
